The spirit of Hari Raya is still in me but I can't avoid the fact that my annual leave is already fully utilised. So, I have to go back to the office and pretend that working is only my passion. Actually, majority of my colleagues still feel the 'Raya' mood. Although today it officially enters 9th day of Syawal, the ambiance of joyfulness and celebration remain exist. Beside the mood, I also miss the 'Balik Awal' session during month of Ramadhan. If I can recall vividly, I came early for only a purpose, just to come back home on time. Now, since the month is off, I need to re-program my brain and schedule to re-follow the existing rules. Going back home at 5.45 p.m. So sad....:(...

Forget about work for awhile, I just want to share my first experience 'Raya' in my father's hometown, Kuala Lipis. Correction, first time after 10 years not coming back to Kuala Lipis. Lost of address or forgot the exact location are not the reasons...please don't speculate. Maybe because the distance between Kuala Terengganu (my existing home) and Kuala Lipis (my grandparent's home) is 'extremely' far give an advantage for my father not to celebrate the previous 'Raya' with my grandparent...(just joking!!!)...anyway, the celebration is fabulous and awesome. I feel very happy meeting all of my aunties and uncles (although there are no 'Duit Raya' for me). Luckily, I able to remember their nicknames. If not, free public lecturer on the importance of relative would be preached by my grandparent...(hehehe)...I also meet my cousin who use to be my best friend during my school time. She already married with a cute husband and adorable kids.
When meeting them, the quite environment on the morning of Shawal turns to 'Pasar Malam'. The giggle and laugh is so loud with the chatting session (by my aunties and uncles), babies crying (maybe because of suffocation, too many people) and the 'police and thief' unintended activities initiated by my little brother. The participant, only my family and relatives and no other people yet!!!..To be honest, I can't barely live in that situation but once a while, what a heck :)...As the host, my father already ask me to buy extra drink (carbonated and not cordial) to be served to the guest. Besides drinks, the 1000 kinds of 'Kuih Raya' also have been ordered 3 weeks before the celebration (in case) just for this special occasion. Last but not least, the traditional food. This year, I help my father and mother to prepare 'Lemang', ketupat, 'kuah kacang' and 'rendang daging'. Unlike other years, everything must be D.I.Y. to safeguard the authentication.
So how about your 'Hari Raya' celebration...I need to stop writing right now because the boss already calling for meeting.....Happy Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin!!!
